“Not only did the Resol String Quartet enlighten me to the modern and exciting world of classical music, but I felt I matured artistically and creatively over course of the time I had the pleasure of working with them. Without the RSQ, my passion, love and enthusiasm for classical music would not exist today.”
-Pupil, Oban High School
Education is at the heart of our work as a quartet, and we are constantly seeking to develop a more robust culture of classical music wherever and however we can.
Each of us are passionate about teaching, having taught and coached individually, and we constantly incorporate this into what we do. We have gained a lot of experience working in a variety of settings both through our work with Live Music Now Scotland, and through training recieved on the Community Music Course in Aldeburgh with Britten-Pears Arts.
We employ a variety of pedagogical methods to bring our love of music to younger generations. These include discussions of mental and physical health for musicians, the importance of a historically-informed approach to music, as well as the techniques required to attain a high level of string playing.
The Quartet is available for ensemble coaching, school workshops, and outreach projects. Additionally, each of us may be contacted for individual lessons on our respective instruments. Contact information can be found in our separate biographies.
